Congratulations to the whole team from BSPN Architecture, Ormiston College, and the many amazing consultants who brought this project to life.
Ormiston College’s Centre for Learning & Innovation was last week announced as Winner of the 2020 Learning Environments Australasia Educational and Facilities Awards, Category 2: New Construction / New Individual Facility over $8M.
This category applies to a new building/s in an existing school or campus, and the Ormiston College CLI went up against some impressive competition across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
At the epicentre of the campus, the Ormiston College Centre for Learning & Innovation is purposefully located to re-activate the School Heart and create an active hub where all paths lead and transverse.
Embedded in the landscape, the building perimeter is an assembly of diverse socio-spatial environments for learning, interaction and engagement. The extended landscape blurs the boundaries by connecting exterior and interior.
A place where minds are engaged and inspired, students are encouraged to seek and achieve. Pushing aside conventional typologies and making way for self-directed learning, empowered by teachers as facilitators of knowledge and the school community as participants.
