Performing Arts Centre

A bold, creative symbol of the school’s commitment to the arts.

This school Performing Arts Centre was envisioned as a sophisticated, multifunctional facility designed to support and showcase the school’s distinguished programs in music and drama. The project entailed the planning and design of a complex building that accommodated a wide range of users and functions, fulfilling both internal academic purposes and outward-facing community engagement. It is a space for students to learn, create, rehearse, express themselves and perform, while also functioning as a cultural venue for parents, friends and the broader public.

Facilities included a concert/recital hall with seating for 600–700 patrons, equipped with professional-grade acoustics, a stage sized for a full orchestra, infrastructure for live streaming and performance recording and a 250-seat Black Box contemporary drama space for rehearsal and performance. The venue incorporated wing space, rehearsal rooms with direct stage access, a spacious and functional foyer for pre and post-event gatherings, a box office, refreshment amenities and appropriate public facilities. Additional features included a gallery viewing area overlooking the stage and an orchestral pit.
