The Cove: Connecting Geebung RSL to the broader community through a new day to night food and beverage offering.

Geebung RSL’s ‘Remembrance Corner’ was previously well known and loved in the community. However, due to surrounding infrastructure development, this part of the street had lost much of its previous charm and activation. The Club’s intent was to reinvigorate the street corner while broadening their appeal to include the many young families who have moved into the area.

The existing Sports Bar and TAB was an underutilised space within the Club, ideally located on the street corner. The decision was made to relocate the Sports Bar & TAB making way for a new day to night food and beverage offering that could open up the space to the street, activating the street edge.

Direct access from the footpath allows The Cove to operate as a stand-alone offer, separate from the RSL.

The Cove now serves early morning coffee and food from its new coffee bar, along with lunch & dinner dining in an inviting and family friendly indoor/outdoor space.  The existing courtyard was opened up, providing views from the street into the new alfresco dining area while openings in tilt panel concrete walls were included to further deliver on a light and airy feeling. The project also included delivery of a new kitchen, amenities and a children’s sensory play corner.
