BSPN Architecture has partnered with Yaralla Sports Club to deliver Gladstone’s first 5-star hotel, designed to celebrate the region’s diverse landscapes and terrain, shaping each guest’s journey from near and far.
Yaralla Sports Club set out to create a luxury hotel experience in Central Queensland, offering guests a 5-star retreat within the heart of the club. Designed for both short and extended stays, the hotel provides a tranquil haven where travelers can unwind before continuing their journey.

From serene bushlands and lush rainforests to stunning coastlines and modern cityscapes. Elements of these stunning landscapes helped inform the design and develop the project narrative.

For this project, we drew inspiration from Central Queensland’s diverse terrain and landscapes, weaving these elements into the interior design to create a unique, playful space. Rainforest Retreat: Creating Moments of Surprise and Delight for Every Guest
The Rainforest Guest Suites are designed to reflect the lush beauty of Queensland’s rainforests, immersing guests in a serene, nature-inspired escape. Bathrooms feature moss-green tiles and waterfall showers, recreating the essence of a rainforest within the comfort of a hotel suite. Gold fixtures and fittings add a touch of luxury, while stunning resin artwork above deep soaking bathtubs enhances the experience.
Accommodation options range from elegant King Studio Rooms to superior Two-Bedroom Apartments, complete with luxurious bathtubs. Each room features a fully equipped kitchen and thoughtfully designed spaces for those seeking comfort and convenience.
The connection to the surrounding landscape is further enhanced by custom artwork from William Versace and Claire Cavana, showcased throughout the lobby and guestrooms to echo the region’s unique beauty. Versace’s unique resin artwork, featured in the bathrooms, further reinforces this connection, seamlessly integrating the natural surroundings into the interior design.
The hotel features a heated outdoor swimming pool with a poolside bar, a cinema room, gym, and an exclusive members’ lounge, welcoming business travellers, families and holiday makers.
