A comprehensive upgrade was delivered for the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club, providing a new grandstand and training facility designed to support athlete performance and enhance the match day experience.
The project responded to the club’s need to replace outdated and inadequate facilities with a contemporary, high-performing environment befitting one of the premier rugby league teams, Brisbane Tigers, competing in the Queensland Cup. The design brings together corporate, training, and match day experiences within a single, cohesive development.
The new grandstand incorporates covered seating for 800 spectators, alongside a broad range of supporting amenities. These include four team rooms, club administration areas, coaches, commentators, and media facilities, corporate boxes, public amenities, a canteen, and merchandising spaces. A gym extension and a 150-seat function room further enhance the versatility of the facility.
A key strength of the design is its flexibility. The facility has been carefully planned to operate effectively as a training venue, match day destination, and function space, ensuring it remains active and valuable beyond game days. This adaptability supports both the operational needs of the club and its broader community engagement.
The development also included the relocation of two heritage structures, ensuring existing site elements were retained and integrated within the upgraded facility.
